Roof Repair & Replacement services in Tempe
Tempe filled in early, so much of its housing dates from the 1950s through the 1980s. Older blocks near the university and downtown have small ranch houses with low-slope shingle or rolled roofs, and some have flat roofs that were foamed or coated later. South Tempe neighbourhoods built around the lakes and golf courses lean toward concrete tile and wood-look shingles. The city also has many apartment buildings, shops and offices with flat roofs that carry air conditioning units, and the curbs around those units are a common leak point. Tempe sits in the middle of the urban heat island, so roofs stay hot long after sunset in summer. Monsoon wind and blowing dust arrive from the south-east and often reach Tempe early. Rental houses here tend to need steady small repairs more than one big job.

Permits and local rules
Tempe's Building Safety Division decides which roof work needs a permit. Like-for-like re-covering is often treated differently from structural repair or a change of material. We check what applies to your address before work starts.
